In recent times I’ve noticed an increase in the number of people reporting issues or asking for help with old versions of Asterisk that are no longer supported or only receive security fixes. I thought I’d use this blog post as a reminder that Asterisk 13 and Asterisk 17 are in security fix only status. If you are having issues with them, they will not receive bug fixes. They will only receive fixes as a result of security issues. It is highly recommended that if you have not already done so to make a plan for upgrading to a supported version. Additionally they will each go end of life at the end of this year and will no longer receive even security fixes.
The current supported versions of Asterisk are Asterisk 16 and Asterisk 18 which continue to receive bug fixes.
You may continue to ask for help on community forums with unsupported versions, but if there seems to be a bug then you will likely be asked to upgrade to a supported version to ensure that the bug still occurs.
As always you can also check out the Asterisk Versions page on the wiki to get the timeline on when things go security fix only and end of life.
